Adult Daycare
The Adult Day Care/Alzheimer's Respite Program is a community based
group program designed to provide a variety of social and related supportive services for older persons and Alzheimer's individuals through
individualized plans of care in a protective setting. The program is designed to solve some of the difficulties of daily living without
removing persons from the mainstream of community life.
The Center is:
A safe and dependable source of respite for family caregivers;
A rehabilitation center;
A place to make friends;
A chance to maintain independence;
An opportunity to have a day of exercise and activities
A source of education and assistance
Eligible Persons Are:
Age 60 or over
Alzheimer's individuals, regardless of age
A resident of Bracken, Fleming, Lewis, Mason or Robertson Counties
Unable to maintain himself/herself without a caregiver because of mental, physical or social problems
Available Activities Include:
Nutritious snacks and meals;
Music;
Exercise and recreation;
Memory games;
Arts and crafts;
The fee for the program is:
Free or reduced rates are available for individuals who cannot pay. However, a $2.00 daily contribution is suggested for anyone who attends.
Referrals are received by telephone, in person, or in writing. An initial screening by telephone is customary. When the referral is inappropriate,
other suggestions for meeting the person's needs are made. If the applicant appears appropriately referred to the Adult Day program,
a face-to-face assessment is arranged. The evaluation of the applicant's physical/mental status, environment, living arrangements,
financial resources, informal support and current services are determined during the assessment.

Transportation services are provided daily. Transportation services are coordinated with the Title III
and Human Services Transportation Programs. Escorts are provided to assist drivers
with disabled participants.
